According to the Democrat and Chronicle, New Yorkers will likely see their most expensive heating bill since 2009 this coming winter.
Supply shortages due to an underproduction in natural gas and an increase in global prices may lead to a drastic increase in both your heating and electric bills. In western New York, National Fuel is predicting a 50% increase in heating bills alone, increasing from less than $700 to over $1,000 total over the course of this winter season. As for electric bills, utility providers across the state are predicting anywhere from a 5-25% increase in your monthly payments.
