Summer Electric Bill Shocker

As the Summer season began earlier this year, analysts noted that a combination of the increase in electricity use to combat the heat and a decrease in the supply of natural gases used in our power plants would lead to an average increase of 3.9% in the price of electricity across U.S. households. According to the EIA, the New England area would get hit the hardest with a 16.4% increase in their electricity bills, due to their heavy reliance on natural gases to fuel their electric grid and rising prices worldwide.
